I may need to do a pick up at Le Mans main railway station during, or just before the drivers parade.
Looks as though it's outside the drivers parade route, but would like someone who knows to confirm this.
Can any body confirm?

Hi Barry,
Should be no problem driving to the Gare (station) it is well clear of the drivers parade. Traffic on Friday will be busy but again should not be too bad.

There is a tram stop at the station "Gare".
You can get the tram from there, direct to Antares - and the trams will be fairly empty as you will be traveling against the flow.

Much easier than driving into town - just meet your friend(s) at Antares station??

Or get on the tram, meet your friend at Gare and walk to the drivers parade - 2 or 3 tram stops down.

Was just about to suggest this. Having done it a few times, the last thing I would want to do is drive into the centre of town on the friday.
Tram seems a sensible idea

Barry,

Having attended the DP for the last 4 years I can confirm that the parade doesn't go anywhere near the main station.
