LM I'm afraid, couldn't miss it. I really though both would happen next year.  Cry This years would have been perfect date wise.

TT is later next year - even closer to LM - unless LM is later too!

Hey Fran,

Sounds great like you had a great time. Where were you marshalling? Really enjoyed the ITV 3 coverage each night, there was a short piece on the Marshall dinner that the organisers hosted and also interviews with a few of the orange army. Some very dedicated long standing marshals, probably  LM has some long standing marshals.

I marshalled at Joeys, Union Mills, Appledene and Handleys Corner - all great spots and other than Union Mills all pretty much spectator free!

Have you thought about going to the Manx (or whatever they call it now) - its on the mountain course and I have heard some really good things about it - I thinks its around August time.

You sound like an expert there Fran. As for the Manx, I'll have to have a word with my mate and see what his plans are. Decisions decisions.

So that's what they do...

I always wondered if the stories were true, brave of you to take the picture though young Bobby

2015

going?

huh?

Next question

Get down there Bill.  You've been away too long.

Dx

Oh Doris, how could I even consider missing the Brethren Costume Ball twice in a row  Wink

Its bad enough I missed y'all this year, I've promised myself no more than one 'miss' in any five years. Preferably none, I've not been in favour here for moping all week...

I'm part way through my planned reasons for missing this year so there's to be no more excuses.

I do need a clue from Russ so's I can plan my cossie though.  Smiley

You'll have to wait until sometime in May for that announcement.

Fran,

Did you see Mark Higgins peddle his Subaru round the course? Quicker lap time than the sidecars now!

Impressive car control.

I saw it zipping by a few times and preparing to set of for a flyer from the Creg one day.  It gets a bit of a run up before the timing starts (ie already doing 150+ mph!) rather than a standing start from Glencrutchery Rd like the bikes/sidecars!  Sidecars definitely more exciting to watch though... you can see the whites of their eyes!

Its all a bit controversial with the TT diehards though - 2 wheels good - 4 wheels bad!

I dont think they will ever forgive racing being delayed when it ploughed into a bridge one year.

Real men do it for 24 hours

83rd Le Mans 24 Hours  will be 13th-14th June 2015. These dates sent in by the ACO were validated today at the FIA World Council meeting in Munich (Germany).

As this year, the 2015 Le Mans 24-Hours will be held during the 24th week of the year.

It’s the seventh time in 92 years that the Le Mans 24 Hours will be run on 13-14 June. The last time was in 2009 and prior to that the years were: 1931, 1953, 1970, 1981, 1987 and 2009.

Test day will take place on Sunday 31st May 2015, two weeks before the race.

Scrutineering and administrative checks will be on Sunday and Monday 6th and 7th June 2015, very probably on Place de la République in the centre of Le Mans.
