The Canadian team who have an airworthy Lanc will be bringing her home to Blighty in August this year, and will be forming up on the BBMF's PA474 (currently in 617 colours)

I would imagine their month long stay will culminate at Duxford in September. 2014 just got better

Love the Lanc, but I'm more of a P38 Lightning or Mosquito man, personally.

Taking off from Hamilton where she lives flying over Toronto and then across Lake Ontario to Niagara Falls before returning to base.  She is known as the Mynarski Memorial Lancaster in honour of P/O Andrew Mynarski VC

Thank you Phil, that will be an awesome sight and sound, I hope the "selected" air displays will include Bournemouth Air Festival.

Ugly looking beast isn't it, especially the back view. The Lancaster looks good though.  Evil

Shame it is not here until August.

Would have been great to have seen them at Goodwood or Fairford.

Hi Nick, Now that would be cool. As a 20 minute ride along costs $3500 I dread to think what a 3 day crossing of the Atlantic would be  Grin

$3500! Holy crap!  When one of the B-17's make their regular stops here in Cincy at Lunken Field, a flight will hit you in the wallet for about $450-500 bucks (tax deductible)  You can always yell when they're in town because when they fly over at low altitude it'll rattle the windows (and scare the crap out of the dog).

You could always pass yourself off as a replacement engine. Tom always says you sound like one once in the tent.  Grin  Wink
