Good fricking grief, they couldn't make these things more hideous looking if they tried.

You're not wrong there Doris.

I was thinking they are taking the car/penis metaphor a little too literally.

Calm down Fran...

The Ferrari is weird but I think the Mac is ok, Williams is also strange, will be interesting to see how they get on in the new season, and will they really look the same as they do now? Craft lot may change design.

How drunk do you have to be to create those rules where racecars have to look like this Huh

I think these nose variations fall into the category of the law of unintended consequences.  The FIA tech regs called for the noses to be lower, in a effort to make them look more traditional.  But as usual what the rule makers envisioned, and the designers interpretations, ended up being very different.
I remember how clean & elegant the designs of F1 cars in the late eighties-early ninties were.  Good lord look at the hideous devices F1 cars have morphed into now.

With such a massive and prescriptive rule book in F1, it is probably no surprise that the cars turn out looking as ugly as a bucket of a**holes.

I'd love to see a 'cage fight' open wheel formula where pretty much anything goes, so long as the design passes the crash test.

No lookers are they!

What's more amazing is the double points race is still going to happen. What next, will a team be able to hang out a joker flag mid way through a race to gain extra points.

No Joker flag, that is a ridiculous idea, however there will be points every race for the best helmet design... Grin

According to the pictures coming in from Jerez, it seems some teams are already running other noses as with the presentation of the cars.
Still but ughly though.   First soundclips aren't too impressive either ... Makes you feel homesick to the V10 and V12 era; standing at the back of the track at Spa and knowing what car came out of the pitlane 3 km away from you just by hearing the sound of it.

Edit ...

And just when you thought you've seen it all ... Caterham produces this :

Yuk !

Ferrari will sport the full-on Latin sausage jockey, their throbbing semi-tumescence tucked to one side at a jaunty angle just in case a a preetee laydee comes past... On the other hand Sauber will only have a tiny little shrivelled todger due to the chilly Swiss alpine climate.
