We wait for the next "bright" idea, and a deal to be done.

The turbines were an interesting experiment, but only bent the one rule, like the diesels, but the dw broke so many, we'll never know if was really quick

As a kid of 14, disappointed by the turbines "failure" at Indy in '67 and '68, confirmed by Art Pollards telling smile when I inquired about the "real" reason for the Leonard and Pollard DNFs at Indy the same year ('68), I visited the NY Auto Show ('69) and inquired at the Lear pavillion about the upcoming entry of the steam car being entered by Lear. the gentleman advised that USAC advised that if it was "too slow (of course) it was not to be; and that if it was "too fast' it was also not to be...  Huh Huh Huh

One thing to note in this discussion, is that the true successor of the Nissan DeltaWing is not the DW car seen in the ALMS this year but the Nissan ZEOD RC that will be in the "garage 56" spot in 2014. Designer Ben Bowlby who was responsible for the original DeltaWing is now responsible for its 'real' offspring the ZEOD RC, and he has no involvement in the ugly Panoz funded version.

Now that looks quite nice. From the side view anyway.
