If they do decide to give it a go I hope the car looks as pretty and sounds as good as the 333SP. Sitting in the old wooden tribunes at first light listening to a Ferrari V12 screaming up the pit straight. Perfect.

There isn't any news, it's just the same old rumour that's been doing the rounds ever since Ferrari left endurance racing to concentrate on F1.

With the number of P2 cars and GTs, which cost a fortune to run, I wonder if Porsche think there is money in a customer LMP1 - the LMP2 Spyder of 8 years ago, only sold in limited numbers, but the 956 worked. I suspect Ferrari would like to join the bandwagon, if there is one, and they have customers with cash

Lying in the sleeping bag at night and hearing the V12 and the turbo Porsche on the high bank at Daytona was almost orgasmic. Please let me hear that again...please!

Perhaps as a DP? What an abomination that would be on so many levels?

'Don't exackly know why, but it were the screamin' straight sixes of the CSLs that did it for me...

I don't know if it's dawned on anyone yet, but this years LM 24hrs marked the 40th anniversary of Ferrari's last participation at Le Mans as a full factory effort, the epic 1973 battle between Matra, and Ferrari, of course decided in Matra's favor when the Ickx-Redman 312PB expired within sight of the finish. Sportscar racing was very important to The Commendatore, but I don't get the feeling it's a high priority to the lot in charge there now. I'll believe it when I see it. Fax

Sounds like a re-hash of old rumours and hot to me, which is a shame as it would be pretty amazing to see them there as a factory team again.

I Remember it well. I went to every 24 Hours of Daytona from 1975- 93, along with the Paul Revere 250 and Daytona Finale. Not to mention Sebring, Miami,(the real street circuit),West Palm and Tampa. I even have pictures and programs to prove it.
