Well, it had to happen one day. All I can say is that Mr Z needs to remember that the Curse of the Commer will come to pass.......In the meantime, while he retains his mental faculties (such as they are) and is capable of normal bodily functions, I think it behoves Mr Z to expand on his rationale for casting her aside, and in line with the thread title, provide some guidance as to the parameters for a replacement.

I knew I was going to be jeered at for selling her but I reckon it's time for someone new to have their fun in her and get her back on top form. As to the eponymous "Modern Commer Replacement", well, all will be revealed in due course. All I can say now is that you probably won't like it! Hugh... don't do it! But if you do, so far as I know not too much needed for an MOT as long as you take it somewhere reasonable who understands old vehicles. The back brakes need doing and a leaky back axle needs looking at. However, it needs work making it habitable so every spring weekend will be taken up doing carpentry and I hope Mrs Phamism is a dab hand with the sewing machine. Ideally you need to keep her under cover too.

How tall is the old dear? Over 7 ft 6 is a no - go for me.
But, yes, Mrs Phamism would kill me, no matter how I spun it.

Yes it's under 7ft 6! However Mrs Phamism will love it. They all fall for her charms eventually. It's so easy to spin her a nice yarn about day trips and picnics in sunlit countryside. My ex-wife believed it... to start with...

WOW! That was one hell of a restoration job, and what a fantastic end result. How many hours of hard work went into that? BTW Andy, don't sell it to Hugh. If I know him he only wants it to blow it up

I have just scanned back over the last posts since Mr Z's dastardly plan to sell the Commer was uncovered, and the forum thread where she was advertised for sale. I may have miossed something somewhere, but I cannot detect any emotional closure in terms of news of an actual sale, nor of what the intended "eponymous Modern Commer Replacement" referred to by him "to be revealed in due course that we probably won't like" actually will be or now is.
So what's going on Mr Z? Has she goen to a new home where she will be cossetted and cared for, or is the poor old girl still languishing, unloved, outside your place?

She was still languishing outside his place when I was there a couple of weeks back. Not unloved however... I gave her a hug when nobody was looking. Dx
