You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

What a load of sentimental claptrap. You're obviosley been on the pop again Zarse Roll Eyes

Not at all, I've hardly touched a drop since Germany. Sentimental yes, but what would you do if it had been your Commer huh? Answer me that wiseguy!

What would I do? I'll tell you what I'd do, I'd get rid of the pile of rusting junk and buy myself a Land Rover Discovery. That way I wouldn't have to be dragged onto a campsite at 2am looking like a disobediant puppy that hadn't been leash trained.

That's brave, to risk the curse.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00kwf9y/Punt_PI_Series_2_Episode_2/

Steve Punt's saturday radio show Punt PI last week featured TV detector vans. About five minutes in he interviews Mr Commer Van himself Martin Maltas. Worth a listen if you've half an hour spare and so inclined.

Martin is a great guy, on more than one occasion he's got me out of jail and to LM by sending spare parts when no others were available and providing invaluable advice. I'm pleased to say I'm providing him with an entire heater system for the only Commer TV detector in the world.

Edited to say the bloody thing's been removed form the Iplayer... Sad

His last appearance before his collapse in a Commer. He looks a little poorly!

I've been thinking further about a replacement. My initial idea was something along these lines...

But this is what I've settled on.

Pick her up from Tadworth tonight  Smiley she's (another) beauty. 1948 Petrol/TVO Ferguson TEA20, her engine sounds so sweet and smells lovely running on a petrol/kerosene mixture.

Nice!  Congrats.

My wife's grandfather had a 1948 Ferguson (painted powder blue).  Almost killed myself with it dragging tree stumps out of the woods.  It was about 50 years old at the time and still dangerous in the hands of an idiot.  Grin

Wow - and you moaned on how long the Commer took to get to Le Mans!
