You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

If you mean this year Bob

2005

another fine vintage year in the sun

104º at trackside for the podium ceremony that year

And our own Winsome Welshman John decided to decorate the Porkie as a celebration

That's one sheepsha**er that really needs to sort his vision of colourful graffics. you can tell John this comment is from another Taffy.

Was he suffering from the effects of the dreaded liquid?

It seems they're going up in value. Here's a nice clean one for sale, and priced about right I'd say. So what price now the Zarsevan? Some years ago (2004) on this thread I was mocked for suggesting a Commer was a sound investment. Guess who's laughing now...

One for Rex here, just imagine all the piano's and other junk you could take to Le Mans or even Goodwood.

Nice Grin

I got home yesterday evening from our local village fete where I'd been running the dg show bit, I'd be a liar if I said it was a completely shandy-free event. I noticed the Commer had gone. Completely vanished. At first I thought it had been stolen or run off or whatever but eventually realised I'd said Chris could borrow it for a sleepover 30th birthday party. I guess she'll be back when she's ready.

So, as we haven't heard what's happened to THE Commer since 6 July, at the risk starting an outcry, what has happened to THE Commer  Huh

More likely to be the other way around having buried her uncaring owner under a patio......

Now now!  Wink

The Commer resides in her usual spot in the long grass at Zarse Towers. However, on wednesday I have secured a nice indoor barn for her to spend the winter, where she'll be cooped up safe and sound next to a Dax Cobra and an XK140. I will then be able to fettle her ready for sale, probably to be knocked through the auction ring, following which, no doubt, the scrapman's cutting torch awaits the old girl.  Evil

How pleasing and comforting it is to hear that she resides back in your tender loving care......

It'll be interesting in the spring when you open the doors to find that she has been busily tinkering away during the winter nights and swopped a V8 from the Dax ,or the straight six from the XK, for the good old 4-pot....

I had a chat with the Commer last nite while watering the grass that threatens to engulf her undercarridge. (Halloween at Zarse Towers was a hoot!)
She is more than happy with her soon to be new bedroom and likes her room mates.
No further secrets were disclosed but she appeared to be sniggering quietly in the darkness as I walked away. Bless Her Wink

I guess this all depends on me being arsed to get her started and rolling again.  Sad

I didn't even dig her out for her annual run round Handcross during the London-Brighton which rattled through the village yesterday, possibly cos i was still suffering the terrible after-effects of the Halloween Party on friday.

The Gimp and a familiar friend; for those who've never seen it, this is what he looks like under that mask...

Mrs Zarse has no idea what's behind her...

And Chris Z being told off again by his missus for over-stepping the bounds of taste and decency...

That Gimp's an imposter! The eye's give it away, very New Forrest I reckon...
