please don't bring rex into your crazy ideas....this was on ebay a few months ago and we had to have a very l o n g talk about why he wasn't allowed it...he got to the reasoning stage that if he sells his other nissans and crap please could he have it? (he always tries this with whatever crap he thinks we need, i think we need a new kitchen so he can wash up in style and comfort), and he actually sold one of the nissans, it had me nervous for ages....delete this link please.....for the sake of our kitchen (and bathroom, flooring etc)

A limited, but garish, market appeal methinks, and bloody awkward in multi-storey car parks....

Now that thing is, to use the modern parlance, Well Sick!
Possibilities for sleeping and cooking look rather cramped, and I'm not sure the Tean Zarse bear would like it up there with the dragons. But none of that would matter if you were dead. What a way to go!

far too much wasted space in there
have you seen how close to the gunnels they pack the mighty Commer
I am still in awe of the Commer, even after her somewhat protracted dramas this year. That poofy-mobile sleaze palace couldnt hold a candle, proverbial or not
I mean twin tub luxury, what is that all about?
Bookshelves?
Pshaww
(psst, anyone got one of them for sale, kinda getting to like it now...)

Very impressive if you like that kind of thing but to my tastes it's a bit too poncified. Where's the bat dropping and sticking-out nails? Still, I can appreciate the workmanship.

If the Commer becomes unservicable/repairable, how about another Brit' classic. Seen at Silverstone Classic...............

Work computer won't let me see the piccy, but if it is of the Austin Paralanian that was near us on the Litchlake campsite, then Mr Z should take heed and provide some TLC to the Commer. Lovely piece of kit, complete with canvas awning and windbreak and period bits inside. MG Mark

Whilst lounging on a sunbed for the last 2 weeks in Greece I had taken a fair selection of motoring magazines to pass the time of day, could not believe it but on page 187 of Classic and Sports Car there's a photo of a Green Commer in the main sqaure at Sees on route it says to the Classic, could it be the one and only Andy if you want will scan in the photo and mail it to you.

Nice pick Leftie, and Mark's correct, it's an Austin Paralanian. They're a beautiful bit of kit, worth thousands in that nick. To be honest though, I've never really fancied a coachbuilt camper, prefer the pop-top thing I guess. Having said that, some of them were a work of joiner's art. They were mainly built on a pick-up chassis and this is what they look like underneath if you strip off the ali bodywork. Wouldn't want to be in the back though, pouring a cuppa or frying chips, if it went and rolled over on the M6! Jules thanks, yes that's my Commer on page 187, a mate gave me a copy of the mag the other week. The photo wasn't taken at the Classic though, as I have only ever been to that by Subaru! I think it was taken on the sunday after the 24 hours, either from 04 or 05.

As a matter of interest Andy. Does either the Photographer or the magazine have to ask your permission before they publish the pic of the Commer? If so, do you get a cut of the royalyies? I reckon, that in the times we live in, a publshed photo of your property, especially in a place that you might not want some people know you were, could be seen as an invasion of privacy. Just a thought

And this from Classic cars Magazine about 2004-ish, the year that Tiff Nidell (sp?) popped in for a chat. You can see the that Perdu fella sitting there with the white (CA shirt).

Much as we enjoyed the leafy glades that year, on reflection I could also have enjoyed being in the lower picture on that page, watching the "sixties beauty pageant"
2004 was the year we were first assisited in the gentle art of site saving by Sir Steve Brown the pyromoderator of this fine discussion club
Thanks again mate!
