Lead Audi has hit trouble and still in garage, No 3 Audi lost time with puncture on approach to Dunlop chicane

Promoting Toyota's to 2nd and 3rd, chasing the No 2 Audi

Safetycar just got back in (again).  Few heavy crashes so far in the night with Status GP and the blue/white Ferrari.  Rain dripping down right now, latest forecasts don't seem good.

Quick powernap now, trackside again at 6 am

Has there been any word on exactly what went wrong in the Aston?  Was the issue mechanical or driver error?  It just seems that going off at Tetre Rouge in the way he did is strange.  I'm not being morbid, just wondering...

There's a video on YouTube from onboard the corvette that was behind him. Seems he mounted a kerb a little too much and just lost it. Doesn't look like anyone or anything specific to blame, just really bad luck.

This is the Corvette on board : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGiYCF79aeU

And this one was taken by spectator at Tertre Rouge, showing a spinning Ferrari right before the fatal crash :

There are images that show the tree behind the armco that were scarred after AS hit the rail.

The tree is right behind the rail and the bark is off at the rail line.

Lots of drivers are pretty fired up about all of this.  I had some communication from Hurley Haywood who let it be known that he is going to make a huge issue out of this.  This deal isn't over and the ACO will have to answer for their errors.
