Unfortunately I can't take my company car abroad (new company / new rules) and am having to hire a car for the trip this year. We do want a bit of style and comfort for the journey and have tried several car rental companies, none of which will allow their cars to be taken abroad. Eurocar are the exception but their range seems a bit limited.
Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

Try googling UK car hire cross border travel.
Good luck!

Hi Steve,
How about renting a car in France to meet which ever ferry/train you cross on? |while it restricts the amount of "stuff" you can take the essentials can be loaded in a trunk and heaved aboard ?
Opens the possibility for an RV rental  Grin

Steve, try Hertz.
They appear to do an 'abroad' options for a surcharge.

Search on their FAQ's

Andy, there will be room. Condition is, you've actually got to turn up to stop me munching them myself due to beer induced late evening / early morning muchies. Arriving with a cool box full of Ginsters.
