Very true i suppose but as the old saying goes "you can only beat whats put in front of you"
Although to counter my own argument in audi's case that was only really an VAG Bentley which is a bit like Man UTD playing Man UTD reserves in the Cup Final.
I think the logic might be that the R8 was dominant in an era when it largely unopposed. The R10 won fewer times but in the face of a serious factory effort by Peugeot, and that makes it more of a 'legend' in the terms of the vote.
Not that I'm audi's biggest fan or anything but does it not seem odd that the R8 doesn't feature from 2000-2010 category winning the race 5 times must not be good enough in the eyes of the ACO ? Seems strange to me.
