Front engined... makes me wonder what is in that space behind the driver's head. Luggage?
Very strange indeed.


In terms of oddness, while it never made the grid this device does take some beating!

Nordic, regarding the 908/80? As I understand it, Porsche wanted to be seen putting all their weight behind the 924 turbo affort that year, so they deliberately kept their involvment with the Joest car low key.  I suppose you could call it a dressed down 936.  There was a article about it in MotorSport in recent years.  The way it was described it was essentially a full works car, with full support, loaned to Joest.
Agree, the M379 wasn't exactly ugly, as the latter cars were, they were downright butt-ugly, but the M379 was probably more "functional" appearing.
