Hi

Just heard from Kevin at Select Motorracing that Karting Nord will be "developed" in 2013.
Guess then that the acces to the inside of ford cicane is reserved for all those rich enough to get in to some hospitality area.

Not happie as this has been our home for the last couple of years.

Also this brings 2 of the big danish group travel agensies to search for a new site, so i think that some of you who use to be in a serten place will be pushed aside to make room.
I hope this will not be the case, but i think an early start for the ticketbooking is on for next year.

Houx already prebooked, and hope to go to Maison if possible.

Have a happy day.

This will be a great shame if it's true  Angry Angry Angry

I wonder if they are indeed building hospitality units??
This will be another one of the previously great un-sanitised campsites washed away for the sake of corporate buffoons and the rest of us pushed out further towards Arnage and Mulsanne.
I know the corporate guys spend a lot of money supporting the event but the ACO must understand that the real fans, the real footfall are still in the campsites.

If they are building a Grandstand down there, (that is generally available to all punters), that might be a bit more acceptable - so long as it doesn't take up the whole site

So where will the Danes end up? BSJ, BN or ........ MB? That's a lot of tents to find new homes for now then.

Perhaps a good idea to get on the agents waiting list as soon as possible then.

You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

I wonder if Audi is behind this ? I talked to an Audi guy on Good Friday and he said that there will be "something BIG" next year... and I doubt he knew about the DfH plans ? Whatever, we will have to move closer as it looks like, or walk longer miles... or use camp site taxis as I did this year. Thanks guys, whoever drove the Mini.  Wink

I hope not Bleu Nord....that would be even more pressure on the woeful number of showers and bogs, just as it was when the big groups arrived on Karting Nord.....

There was none of the plastic showers on Bleu Nord this year which didn't bother me as I didn't get one. Just opened a Camembert when people came round angel

I thought there was generally more 'corporate' stuff there this year, especially at the rear of T34 and around the village. You do get the impression that the ACO are trying to edge out the real race fan. Big mistake in my book. I wouldn't like to calculate the additional income the race generates for the region, and indeed along the routes there and back.

MB had space taken this year by the fairground and the support pitts. And there seemed to be less showers and toilets as well.
