I have been lucky enough to have been able to go to Sebring, Road Atlanta and Laguna Seca and will agree with Brad that trackview is fantastic.
they do have fencing but far less then for example Spa-Nurburgring have so watching cars is more real

Brad, you need to go to Petit Le Mans (Road Atlanta) , it is mini-spa without the fencing (sadly it is not part of the WEC anymore so not as attractive to go there anymore, hopefully this changes next year).

Or Sebring....  See below for just a taster Smiley

wow looks amazing. And don't forget 'diet coke is just $2.50.'

Hold on - there aren't any racing cars in this either - it just gets better and better........................................

oh no - the racing cars are there, but they're so close, that the standard zoom lens on the camera just cropped too much of the car to be useable..... you have to have a wide angle lens to get any kind of photo.

and the diet coke example was exactly that - an example....  I could have used anything from the $20 event t-shirts, to the $7 dollar cocktails at the Tequila Patron tent.....

As for your sarcasm - if you've not been, I wouldn't expect you to understand - there are plenty who will.

12 hours Brad - it only lasts 12 hours.......................just getting started and woops its all over...............

Brad and Monkey, I loved Sebring but heck, it ain't perfect.  The bogs were apalling.  By midnight and still by 8 on Sunday  morning, they were literally that - bogs - knee deep in loo paper and less pleasant sh*.  At LM even at 3 in the morning there were guys about cleaning them.  And there were loads of showers compared to just the 2 in the ladies out at Turn 10.
Yes, the food and booze at LM are pricey but they're there, for 40 hours or so without a break, all around the circuit, even out in the boonies.  At Sebring they are all on the one main drag and if you're far away (eg at Turn 10) then so's even the most basic cup of coffee.
You can reserve a place in the stands.  Some newbies who went to Sebring this year who got stand tickets (something we didn't bother with on advice from the Turn 10-ites) said it was a free for all and all on one level so if you got there late they were worse than useless.  A beggar for anybody like me and my friend who cannot stand up for very long.
You may hate Bruno but at least there is a commentary, and tannoys all around the circuit.  Not to mention big screens even out at Mulanne and Arnage.  At Sebring only the leader lights (introduced comparatively recently thanks to a member of the public, not the organisers let you know who's running where if you don't have a radio.
The race isn't long enough.  Sorry chaps.  It may be just as hard on the cars as 24 hours but it's far too easy on the fans!

Sebring has a lot going for it but it is far from perfect.  I have loads of gripes about the ACO - not least their crappy booking system - but there are still things which the do really well and for £40-odd for 24 hours racing plus loads more quali time on top, it's still great value, imho.
