Just Tickets mailed me on the 4th to say

"Alcohol, the ACO also advise that due to problems with alcohol last year, bottles within campsites are fine, but please do not take glass bottles, into the General Admission area."

I guess that that means that for those of us in Mainson Blanch, no bottled wine, just cans!

But are they really going to search my car going in?

Thanks Ian, we're on the Team Langoustine site just inside Tertre Rouge so will see how it goes when we pitch up in the wee hours of Thursday morn.

Kristof, that's good to hear then. So sorry to hear about your need to return home though. Get well soon old chap!

Mr. Brown. Your taste is impeccable Sir. As always. Just demolished a mini-keg of their Diamond Jubilee ale last weekend with my Dad  Grin .. toured the brewery last summer and made the most of the tasting session. Big fan of their beers and wines, we have two Adnams shops very local to us and are frequent visitors. So much so that they know us by name now. Oops.  Wink

Termie, if you find out, please let me know. Think there should be a "tax" for CA members on Steve's kegs (that's kegs, not kecks!).

Just seen a post on PH that they are searching cars for glass bottles on Houx campsite. Hopefully they will have given up by Wednesday PM.

 Taking a few cans anyway

Just back from Bleu Nord. They are searching cars but are looking for "excess quantities". I asked what that meant and he shrugged. Glass bottles are OK, but for the rest you'll have to ask for divine guidance.

Thinking about this more, Bleu Nord should be fine anyway as they are outside the GA ticket area. I believe it's for people on sites like Houx, MB and our Team Langoustine site over near Tertre Rouge. Seems glass bottles are no go then. As Simon said, cans it is then  Grin

Bloody hope so, just got a case of Crabbies and a case of Youngs Waggle Dance from the Wholesalers. Also ordered a case of Monksman's Slaughter from Cropton Brewary down in Yarkshire. If I have to drink that lot at the gate before getting on MB I might end up doing a big wee in my trousers.

Ah.... just received word from one of our chaps who has recently landed on MB.

Got stopped at the gate, searched and turned away as they had cans on board and wouldn't surrender them. Went away, hid them well and tried again. Success!

Sounds like it's alcohol all round then. This is not good....

Just to clarify, this seems to apply only within the circuit boundaries. Wonder if this means our backpacks will be searched as we walk in too???
