History of motor racing

After watching all the wonderful old film clips on speed machines last night, I remembered a series that was run in the late 60's or early 70's on ITV's World of Sport, which told the history of motor racing through old film clips. Although I may be remembering it through rose tinted glasses, it was a excellent collection of early film footage.
Does anyone remember what it was called?
Is it available on VHS/DVD?
Does anyone have a recommendation on a similar theme which is available?

Barry,
Don't know the ITV one, but the BBC, back in the late '80s, did a series called The Power and The Glory, which was a history of motorsport and covered just about everything, from Le Mans to Nascar via F1 and Hill climbs.
That was/is available on video

The "old chap" (
) is Doug Nye and the video magazine is Motorfilms Quarterly.

You also can buy the Michel Vaillant DVD (not the actual movie but the elder TV serie)
YOu've got a lot of vintage motor racing from early top mid 60's. Out of the main characters, all the people are real one, you'll see Jo Schlesser, Enzo Ferrari, Amédée Gordini, Jose Roqinski, Bob Bondurant, and maybe Bobby Rahal (but I'm not sure of this last one..)
