Hi guys,

just found a lead on PH that someone has done an App for Le Mans for Android Smartphones - just search for "LeManians" on the Android marketplace. This might be also an idea for our CA Guide for next year - since more people use smartphones now.

Best

Is it worth looking into getting one one of the apps for the forum?

There is also https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=torquesoft.lemans_free

Even just having the CA Guide in PDF format on a phone should work well.

Just talked with my 17 year old son (no bigger computer nerd then him in school Grin): For now the time is too short to come up with something for 2012 but he will hone his programming skills by doing a CA Guide version as an Androiud App for 2013: Idea is to generate automatically from the contenets of the wiki by using it's xml api but to design the app in a way that it will also work off-line - and update info automaticall when being online again. It doesn't make sense to put the whole CA Guide on a smartphone - but just the info which is useful while at Le Mans (Entry list, race week schedule and others) and may be links to other useful stuff like RLM. Let's see what we can come up with for next year.

First class idea.  Way over my head but still first class.

I agree, a fantastic idea, but I have trouble turning my phone on, let alone designing an app, so anything you can do would be much appreciated and admired  Cheesy
