Right now, as is so often the case these days, the ratio of guests to users on line is about 10 to 1 in favour of the guests. I'm sure it used to be the other way about! What's going on?

At the moment I'm alone with 63 guests.... Ooo,er! What's the advantage of looking around as a guest but not logging in? What harm can these bots do, if any?

You know in Greek the word for 'guest' is also the same word for 'stranger'... xenos. As in 'xenophobia', the fear and hatred of guests.

Just had to Log-in for the first time since I joined 2 years ago, and after that amount of time usernames and passwords are a distant memory. Good old paper, pen and secret scrap of paper, saved me from being another guest stastistic. However I have noticed a massive drop in enthusiasm this year. Didn't know there were so many Peugeot fans in the club.

I believe that the Muslims have a saying that "An unexpected guest is a gift from God" which means that if I ever turn up at your door looking for a free meal, I'm not a scrounger, I'm a gift from God

The post "You know in Greek the word for 'guest'...etc" was a quote from Flanders and Swann "At the drop of a Hat". I just wondered if there was anyone else on here old enough to remember F&S! I believe that the Muslims have a saying that "An unexpected guest is a gift from God" which means that if I ever turn up at your door looking for a free meal, I'm not a scrounger, I'm a gift from God

, I'm a gift from God Aw, Gary. We knew that all along, of course. Mr Hod, I get the impression that many members communicate more through Facebook these days. Whilst I find that OK, I admit I have little interest in what my "friends" had for dinner or, worse still, what their kids had. Thus I still visit this place rather more but the interest has dropped off a lot, as you say, so sometimes it's like talking to yourself (or, rather 60-odd "people" you don't know, lurking in the backgroud and saying nothing!)
