As enough people asked I am lead to believe some of you give a sh*t
After a final round of good byes I left the track at 12 noon on Sunday It was 28 C and sunny.
Hwy 27 North was steady all the way to I 4. The drive through Orlando was better than usual and a detour into Daytona was probably not smart but it was nice to see the remains of Bike Week and a few bikinis to make the traffic jam worth suffering. The coast road up to St Augustine is a favourite of mine but was also slow with a few bikinis
or was that bikes? and lovely seascapes even if I could not stop.
Once back on I 95 it was hammer down and get on with the drive home. Once into Georgia it was dark and time for dinner before it became too late on a Sunday. Fuel stops have become a bit of a challenge as many pumps now require a Zip code matched to the card before they will work. Canada has postal codes using letters so not recognized by the machine. I always push to get past Charlotte NC in both directions as it is a major traffic snarl up for hours either side. I pressed on into the night eventually stopping at 3:30am in Summersville WV as a thunderstorm was just getting started. Managed 4 hours of sleep interupted by a downpour that made me feel i was in a drum under Niagara Falls. as i was warm and dry i went back to sleep.
Off before 8am with a full tank of gas and a coffee. breakfast in Morgantown with another tank of gas. traffic was pretty light though quite a lot of construction in PA.. Big crash on the highway near my house so had to make a detour which confused the GPS lady until I turned her off
Home at 5:00pm
