Is it correct that the monday after the race is a bank holiday in France?

Will this affect the supply of petrol etc?

Yes it is.
As for fuel : I guess petrol stations in villages and at supermarkets will be closed, and only work with bankcard. If you have Maestro though, that won't be a problem.  The big (and expensive) ones on the autoroutes will be open as usual.

Yes Monday 13 June is a holiday in France.
No it won't affect your ability to fill up. Supermarkets and most garages have pumps which these days accept UK credit/debit cards and motorway services are open as usual.
Some, if not all large supermarkets (Auchan in particular) now open on most holidays. Too early to identify which ones yet.

The majority of pumps now take all British credit and debit cards, unlike in the past.
Big supermarkets such as Auchan, north of the town, are usually open on bank hols these days, but for shorter hours - 9 to 5 is pretty usual nowadays.

We normally stop off near to calais to stock up on wine etc, Is it likely the supermarkets there will be open? don't really want to buy all the wine etc on Friday and leave it in the car.

Fuel is not a problem, will fill up Friday and will be able to get back to blighty on a tankful.

I phoned Auchan Calais for you.
They don't yet know if they will be open on 13 June. Suggest you bump this at the end of the month.

Yes there's the usual HGV Sunday/holiday restriction in force that day. The teams will have to hang around with their transporters an extra day this year, I think.

Great that will make exiting Houx a bit easier on Monday morning, took us about an hour last year with all sorts of trucks blocking the roundabout near Technoparc.

The Bank holiday certainly had an affect on the roads. No lorries made the trip one of the most pleasant ever and we hardly stopped in Rouen, what a great idea but must be major headache for Norbert and his pals!

The Auchan supermarket at Boulougne was open as normal as well but seemed a bit busier than usual.
