Marzipan .....

She'll be after your nougat, she's a marzipan digger! Uncle Pete stinks of marzipan.

Classic Donald and Davy Stott!

BTW Rick, marzipan's private.

Seeing as I posed the suuplementary question, I think it only fair to tell you that I was going to say Volvo.

Never knew that someone had used a volvo engine in another chassis tho. Why on earth???

But yes, Nordic, what about VW? Rick?

DAVY STOTT!! You're an outrageous man tonight!! What's the matter, don't you like nitrogen?

Back in the early 90s, the missus, myself and my sis 'n' bro-in law all dressed up as the Stotts at Le Mans one year. The locals had no idea and just put us down as mad Brits as usual, but some German people got most offended and thought we were taking the p*ss, with our Stotty/Hitleresque moustaches! It must have been 1992 actually thinking about it because the "slaphead" also served as part of my Gareth Chilcott get up at that year's Pilkington Cup Final.

Back to the matter in hand (oo-er missus), VW have never had a chassis entered either officially or privateerly, just the various engines over the years. Remember that humungous hospitality tower in the paddock a few years back, the year the 675 Reynards were fast but fragile? VW made sure they were rebadged as "Lehmann" thereafter and have been very successful since!!!! Oh how the PR dept. must be so pleased with themselves!!!!

volvo engine in another chassis tho. Why on earth???

It was a team of two Swedish drivers (remember Slim Borgudd and his brief F1 moments?) and one American. Guess they wanted to be Team Sweden or summat! THe Volvo engine was late being delivered and the team struggled witht the installation in time. Missed the Wednesday sessions but made it out for Thursday which was wet. Nevertheless, the stewardsw ere OK with Borgudd's time relative to the other cars but the two other drivers were never given enough time to set a representative time, so it was goodnight from him and goodnight from them too.

The Tiga Volvo was never heard of again........
