Yes looked this year and last, prices are higher, cheapest way of getting there thisyear for me is P&O via Dover. Love the overnight one from Porstmouth, but even taking account of extra fuel needed, still worked out cheaper P&O way. Due to my austerity measures, need the money for Beer

There are some Eurotunnel bargains at the mo' (20,000 cheap tickets) but they may be all gone by now, dunno. Worth a try though if the route suits.

Last year I paid £278 for Portsmouth-Cherbourg-Poole
This year I'm paying £222 for Portsmouth-Cherbourg-Portsmouth
Same car. Same number of pax. Same dates.
Only difference is I booked in October rather than February.

@Redstu: if you don't mind putting those few extra miles on the road, check norfolkline Dover to Dunkirk. Just checked their price for one vehicle on dates 6 - 13 june, and they're offering £58.00 including fuel charge (whatever that is).
Darn well worth those extra few miles in France, it's only 20 minutes north of Calais!

Check with www.aferry.to. I went over with Norfolk Lines in November, and it was cheaper with aferry.to than Norfolk's own website - there was no fuel surcharge. Del
