Is anyone staying at the Travel Lodge?

Bob,

I will be, just booking it now - the booking system says that I have a 'family room'.  That might be a 3-bed bedroom?

If you want to share room/cost I'll check with the Lodge & make sure that the room has 2 or 3 beds.

Failing that we could share taxis to/from the pub?

Paul

I am just outside of queensway and about 300 meters from bayswater, so that would be an option. Still not sure if I will come though, depends on what the misses says.

You could walk to Paddington from there in about 10 minutes

Is last orders at 11? Or does this pub open later, does anyone know? I'm picking Sander up from Luton around 9.30 so could be there by about 10.30... not sure if it's worth it or not :/

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

Just checked the fares from paddington to reading. 30 pounds each, for a half an hour train ride, you have got to be kidding me? Bloody expensive! I think it is out of the question that I will be joining the gathering.

Just be thankful you don't have to do it every day

Their spokesman says "There are fares to suit every pocket"  What a vvanker

And I thought public transportation was expensive in our country. That is just outrageous if you ask me. Surely there must be a cheaper option? For that kind of money in euro, I can book a return trip from maastricht to rotterdam, a 2 and a half our trainride! And not by slow train, but by intercity!

Hell even the ticket to and from london by eurostar are cheaper than that!

It is crazy Roy, and it's all down to it probably quoting you for the fast train during peak time.

If you catch the 19.03 (29 minute journey) or any train after 19.22 the fare goes down to about £15 for the return journey.

You can get a £15 Fare all Day (After 9am). Get an Off Peak Ticket and travel on one of the slower services, I am struggling to find a way to prove this online!

Some trains are slow/fast ie stop at one station on their way to Reading. Chances are speak dutch and just get on a fast train and worst case is they throw you off at eerrrr...Reading!
