Did anyone else notice that the ACO / official bars after the race were only selling non-alcoholic beer?

We tried two behind the grandstands and were informed they could only sell non-alcoholic variety.

My French was not good enough to determine if that was just a case of them running out of the real stuff, or if it was a new policy to restrict the flow of alcohol in the final stages of the race (drink driving amongst the locals perhaps?).

I don't know if this was the case for the whole weekend with the official bars, or just a select few and I got unlucky in both cases.

Or maybe the Pug team had bought up everything left to drown their sorrows.......

I have come across this phenomenon. I think it may have to do with the special licence to sell booze that expires at 3pm on Sunday.

It's an attempt to prevent people from driving home drunk.  It was once the norm and then for a few years a new mayor meant the rule was relaxed but now it's back again.

Consider ourselves lucky, AFAIK NO alcohol for the Motorbike events and not sold in supermarkets.
After all it is difficult to have designated drivers for motor bikes.
