Back in April, it was announced that one of the BMW at Le Mans would be another "Art Car", this one being based on the work of Jeff Koons. The concept is based on "vivid brightly colored stripes that fan out across the exterior sheet metal, creating a sense of kinetic, electric motion". "I was inspired by Christmas tree lights", Koons said. The car will run as #79 in tribute to Andy Warhol’s 1979 M1 art car. It was announced that the Koons car would be unveiled at the Centre do Pompidou in Paris on June 1, where Koons would sign it, and it will remain on display for one day before getting prepped for the race. Does anyone know if this is still on track ?

Looks like a load of guys at the stella bar have thrown up all over the front just before it heads onto mulsanne straight to me!
God knows what it'll look like during and after the race, especially with any damage.

I was thinking "Paul Smith" too - I rather like it, but will reserve judgement until I see it in the flesh.... cant really tell from the computerised version.

art is in the eye of the beholder.
I like any mixture of art and race cars. - or art about race cars, or race cars in art...
like Doris, look forward to seeing the car - but nice to see a new rendering.

It'll be interesting to see what it's like in real life. But I think I prefer the more mundane designs myself.

Well the car doesn't look too bad but the the photos look wrong to me. The geeza looks like a cardboard cut out. Perhaps the result of being put though PotatoShop.
Is that the Camera man I see in the windshield of the top photo.

Most likely a whole bank of photographers (or whatever the collective noun might be)!
