Yes, if it works in UK it will work in France.
But note that it only gives you free to air programmes.

The dish is a bit small (35cm).  The further south you go, a bigger dish is required.

For LM area, it is recommended that you have a 50cm dish, especially for the channels coming from the Astra 2D satellite which has a very focussed beam (on the UK) - trouble is, I don't know which channels come from which of the three Astra satellites!

It's always a bit of a lottery as to how long it takes to get the dish pointing in the right direction and elevation - especially after a few cold ones!!

You will have no problem with this size dish at Le Mans.
Had this size up and running for months at our venue Le Bounty it was from Maplins.
Now replaced with one a bit larger than the ones used in the UK but a lot less than 1m

Just get a clear view to the Sat and set up on the ground the dish does not have to be high up and setting up on the ground is more easy.
But the Sat is very close to 2 others and only need very very fine adjustment to get the correct one.
Next time I am over will get a compass reading for you all

35CM is a bit small for the Dish according to most of the specialist sites.  There is a contour map that shows the signal dropping off once you get into Normandy.  Once you hit the Med you need Jodrell Bank as Sky are so mean.  I'm sure I've heard that standard Sky dishes work, and they're 43 cm.  Depends on the LNB too

Maplin do a similar kit which used to come with a 60 cm dish, and that works well from Blue Nord, but you need a post to bolt it to.  They also do a 39cm dish in a suitcase for camping

Why not take a dvd player instead.  That way there's a chance England might win


And check out Aldis other bargains - garden chairs, parasol lamps, trailer locks etc  They must think summer is here

My Sky Mini-dish (53) works fine here.  35... I'd be a bit worried.  Whatever, buy in the UK, this stuff is silly price over here if you're paid in sterling.

Last year (I'm told) Bricomarche had some deals on Analogue kits, which will pick up Eurosport1

Compared with some of the other aspects of Le Mans (or the new kitchen - AAAAAAAAAAAAAAArgh), this is getting rather simple, and don't forget Kangaroo TV

I can guarantee a 39cm dish (mini dish) will work fine in Le Mans.
As I said before the problem is finding the right satillite as its very close to 2 others. As long as you have a clear view then you should have no problems......clear includes no trees or bushes in the way.

Dish configuration for finding UK Freesat channels from LM :

Azimuth 144.3
Elevation 28.54
Polarisation Angle -15.48

Eurosport is encryped whether you connect via Freesat or TNT (the French equivalent) so I guess you also need a card or something for other than free-to-air (I get my Eurosport via a Canal + package here.)

Analogue signals are being phased out but I don't know when as I don't have an aerial myself.

This is nothing compared to the kitchen.  I've just found 2.7metres of cabinet in a 2.6 metre gap.  I thought computers couldn't do that.  Lots of pretty pictures though.

And I hear that analogue Eurosport is good for another few months.  Dish alignment is simple with a compass, unless you've got a magnetic dish like mine.

We've always used a standard Sky Minidish - it's not perfect, as when it really hacks down, the signal will go - but that happens here too.  It takes a while to set up, but isn't actually THAT hard - I think it's normally down to the fact that I'm trying to do it a little worse for wear normally that takes the time

Having thought long and hard about this though, I am of the opinion, that the best place to watch the football is likely to be at the Tetre Rouge Stella Bar, or the Guiness Bar in the village - SURELY they'll have the game on?
