I was on business in Imola (Italy) last week, left my suppliers factory on Friday evening for Bologna Airport, picked up a hire car at 6ish from the airport and drove to San Remo. Had a nice chat to the Carabinieri on route , Dumped the Hire car at the rental companies agent in the town centre at 11pm. Collected by my French work colleague and drove to Aix de Provence, had a few hours sleep and then caught the 09:43 TGV up to Paris. Changed from Gare de Lyon to Gare de Nord by taxi, lunched in Paris watching the Manchester derby on the TV with a whole bunch of Brits. Caught a Eurostar Train at 6pm to St. Pancs, swapped to Euston Station and headed up to Crewe. Transfered to a train to Wilmslow and then another to Manchester Airport. Collected car from car park and was home to watch Match of the Day by 11pm. Not bad going in 30 hours It actually made a refreshing change going by train. Now wish I had stayed in Italy for a few extra day

Have just had to email my boss and inform him that I am unable to attend a meeting in London tomorrow due to the fact that Southampton Airport remains closed.

My bessy mate got stuck in Paris for 3 days (was flying back from LA to Heathrow and got diverted just before Charles de Gaulle shut too) but he got back to Manchester on Saturday night by train. Seemed to be quite well looked after by Continental Airlines while he was away tho. My boss is stuck in Orlando for the foreseeable.... (apparently the weather has been rubbish too!) F

I have a colleague who's stuck in China with her husband and 2 children. They've been told the earliest flight they can get back is on 29th April!! - unless they bribe the airline staff to maybe get bumped up the list.
On the up side, I didn't have to fly to London today, and my MD has told us not to trvel for probably the next 2 weeks so we're not risking being stranded. I'm fed up with flying places for work so GET IN!!

Never got out of the States for work in Italy and Spain this week (thank Christ!) Last thing I wanted was to get stuck over there with the thousands of other poor bastards trying to get out. I guess this is God's 9/11!

Mate of mine out in Brazil (for a wedding, not his) keeping busy writing thank-you letters to all those nice people in Iceland who made his stay a little bit longer.
'Nother mate has a flight to India Friday afternoon (for a wedding, not his) - busy taking bookings in his diary for next week in the UK.

I really feel for him. Another mate was, and I'm guessing still is, stuck in Toronto. Knowing him he'll be "drowning his sorrows" in the Hard Rock Cafe and Hooters. Dx

So, here I am in Whistler library, still waiting for a flight. Finally got one confirmed for the 25th, 8 days after we should have left. The locals have been wonderful and taken pity on us. Cheaper hotel rates for anyone stranded and some giving us staff discount in restaurants and bars. Air canada are a bunch of c**ts not giving a flying f**k about us and putting on no extra flights now that the airspace is open. Still, sh*t happens and I can think of worse places to be stranded. Oh well back to the slopes see you all next week

Chin up Bob. It's a very warm 39 degrees here in Samui. The Singha beer is only being consumed to prevent me over heating. Sadly, I didn't win the Strandees Mojito Drinking Contaest a few days ago. The trophy goes to a Bournemouth chap, who managed a magnificent 34 in the course of 1 day. Swimming gala tomorrow, for all the strandees!
