... this year the edition cost a lot of money to the ACO and all the teams because the race was cancelled just one week before.

What's this year?

Not sure of the year, but I think 197something, but it understand it was due to the French National Sport... going on strike.

it deals with strike (quite normal we're in France) but not in the 70's

And they nearly cancelled the race in 1974 due to the oil crisis.  Roll Eyes

And it was cancelled in June 1968 the race eventually took place in September 1968 due to civil unrest in France.
