Is the JLOC Lambo included because it is still there spluttering around trying to finish the 2009 event?

Or is it a new attempt to get the car to work?

AsDobbo already posted the GT2 field has some competative teams. As we all know it only takes one slip or hiccup.

Actually the ACO couldn't avoid this entry - JLOC was 1st in GT1 in the Asian Le Mans "Series", therefore got an automatic entry and obviously they took it!

You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

I wonder what they will come up with this year. It'll be another good laugh for sure.

As for Kruse, that's mega disappointing !!! Still, crossing fingers, hopefully the one or the other drops out and they can jump in.

I'm still wondering who Gentelozzi greased to get the "GT2" Jaguar in.  The roller they showed at Road Atlanta supposedly wasn't close to spec.  I also heard that the car they raced at Laguna Seca was still being put together minutes before the race.

I suggest the other teams keep their garages locked at night.

There are probably 50 teams more deserving of that slot.

Anyway, besides the Audi-Peugeot battle Part IV this year GT2 is the class to watch. Other than in the last years, when it was a Porsche vs. Ferrari privateer duell (OK, with some works support here and there...) this year we will also have a full manufactorer clash in that class: BMW vs. Corvette with both the Pratt & Miller guys and the Schnitzer team being extremely professional.

AFAIK GT2 was once designed as a low-budget class for private entries - Is this what the ACO wanted?

They certainly did all they could to keep P2s as privateers by discouraging Porsche and Honda from making factory entries, but they  appear to have just bowed under the overwhelming pressure to turn GT2 into the manufacturers' platform.  But then there has been a lot of factory support behind Risi, the Lizards, IMSA Matmut et al so I guess it was coming.  Pity in many ways but what a race we have in prospect so that's what matters in the end.  But then GT2 has for years provided the best racing, imho.

GT2 is indeed going to be great battle although i can't help thinking the BMW won't have the legs down the straights. I quite fancy a tenner on a Porsche victory this year. I'm always wrong though Roll Eyes

Just had a good look at GT2 - The Corvette Rcing C6 ZR1's will blow the pants off everything else esp' with that driver line up: Oliver Gavin, Olivier Beretta, Johnny O'Connell and Jan Magnussen.
Luc Alphand watch your mirrors mate!

Can't see the BMW's having enough grunt! Nor can I see a lot of people in the grandstands with BMW flags.
