I got it yesterday fom Mr S Zarse. So to speak.

How do you get on the LM curcuit in the Bentley? I can only seem to find loads of crappy short curcuit stuff in road cars.

You need to complete about 36% of the game on gran turismo mode to unlock all the tracks for arcade mode. La Sarthe is one of the last to unlock. To get the Bentley you need to win the 2nd Le Mans 24 hour race i think.

Get yourself the Toyota Minolta from the El Capitan endurance race and let your B-spec driver have a go.  He might win it, or he might just keep stacking it going down the Mulsannne, they need practice to make them any good (a bit like you).

A handy hint is to win the legend of the silver arrow race in the mercedes hall, and then take the Merecedes touring car you win, and enter the DTM, not only is the prize money high but you win a CLK GTR which you can sell for three quarter of a million. Get your b-spec driver to keep repeating it until you have enough money to buy something silly. A tuned CLK GTR is good enough to win all the non LMP endurance races comfortably and then once you have the Toyota Minolta you should be unstoppable.

Any questions just ask, at last check i was at 90 odd percent complete, with over 680 cars in my garage, you gotta collect them all.

J.

Thanks J. Does having a B spec driver mean I don't have to do the driving myself? I mean, like I am some sort of race team manager?

When you go to enter the race you are given 2 choices A spec mode (where you drive the car yourself, i didn't fancy a 24 hour race, don't no about you), or B-spec mode (some people call it directors mode), now on B-spec mode you choose the race pace from 1 to 5 (1 being slow and 5 being push hard), You also can select if you want him to overtake and when to pit, (however if you leave it unattended he will pit automatically when he decides his tyres are shagged or he is about to run out of petroleum). As for the speed setting, my b-spec is good enough to be left on 4 without crashing too much and i leave overtake on all the time so he can overtake backmarkers. However i f he is of very low experience he will probably crash quite a lot on 4 so may'be 3 is a good place to start till he builds up some experience. You can check his stats in your garage.

I think B-spec is only available on Gran Turismo Mode (i.e. not arcade). I only use him for endurance races or crappy toyota vitz races that i know i will whip the computer on. The rest i drive myself.

Oh and you have to complete 25 % of the game before the endurance races are unlocked.

If you are looking for a good starting car then the 500 bhp golf from HPA motorsports (find them in the tuner hall) for 30000 credits is a bargain. Stick some dirt tyres on it and go do some of the easy rallies. You don't need dirt tyres for the Capri rally and the other mediteraen one.

For winning both capri rallies (forwards and reverse) you get a toyota rally raid car that you can sell for a quarter a million.  I think i won this with a 97 civic that was souped up to about stage 2 turbo.

Any more questions?

Thanks J, I will look at tackling all this after LM, assuming I regain use of me hands and eventually stop shaking like a three-legged spin dryer, which took about two weeks last year.

Ill be up for any GT4 playing down at lemans! Must start practising!

The best wheel set is the GT Force Pro one, it's got 900degrees of rotation and is really responsive and accurate! (Not that i know how accurate driving a real Audi R8 is!)

I'm using a Logitech wheel and pedel set and pretty damn good it is too, feedback of all the bumps through wheel is excellent.  As it says on the box - Feel the Force  Feel the Thrills.

But there again I used to know a few women with box like that and even they couldn't beat driving round Le Mans in a Bentley

I have a wheel but it is a poor imitation of the full LOgitech jobby. However you can still do just as well as using the control pad. Extra time can be gained if you turn off the traction control.  I don't bother with the manual gearbox but it can also gain you time if you are good with it.

If anyone is organising a race evening down there i shall have to pay a visit and whoop some behinds.

Right oh!!

So who's taking a PS2 down, I think a competition is in order. I'll stick to the dual shock pad though, using the wheel never quite feels "right". Personally I find using both sticks is just as precise as I ever need.

You've always gotta go with manual gears & no ASM otherwise you're not playing the game right!!

Ye Gods, is nothing sacred, a high tech hangman. Whatever happened to good old fashioned pencil and paper?
