Hi All

I have been reading the posts for a couple of weeks, and it's time to dip my toes in.
This will be my 4th time out to LM, and the 20th anniversary of my first trip.
I will be pitching up with tmdg on BJ.

Welcome enjoy the fun!!

I wouldn't bother with water proofing the tent, maybe take a bucket of water to it each day just to protect from the sparks Grin

Steve any ideas where I can get Napalm?  I've not seen it in any supermarkets.  I'll try the Hardware shops this weekend.

I do have a new idea.  Did you ever watch the Chris Evens show "Don't forget your Toothbrush!"?  They had a thing on there "Blow it up till it bursts" or some thing.  Well I have an old blow up camping bed.  Last I over filled it and in the heat of the the day it poped one of the thingies inside so it has a big bulge now.
So I think I might try the "Blow it up till it bursts."  :-)

On the more serious side of Life,  Bobble I think your on the same ferry as Brick.  Do say hi to him.  In fact why not join us all for Breakie.

Sodium Chlorate weedkiller is a pretty effective "propellant" when mixed with sugar.

Now clearly I don't want to be prosecuted here for encouraging the missuse of gardening products, but surely we all had a good old play with this stuff when we were kids? Who could forget the joy of bending over the end of a steel pipe, packing it with the compound, hammering over the other end and chucking it onto a bonfire. Then running away like fu ck before the hiroshima style mushroom cloud and ashy fallout rained down on your bonce!

Those were the days before PC ruinned our lives.

I don't know if you can still get SoCh4(or is that salt?) but I'm fairly sure I saw it in a garden centre last week at £3.99 for a liter tub. Don't buy any let alone take it to LM.

I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

We  used to drill a hole in the tube and use an opened out catherine wheel as a fuse.

Placed under the eves of the farmers Chicken house it not only made a nice amplified bang.  But the roof rummbled for what seems like minutes.

We never checked what it did for egg production.

An interesting version of napalm reveolves around the common garden molotov cocktail. If you dissolve up polystyrene beads (apparently soap flakes work as well - never tried) in petrol before you throw said petrol bomb. Then when it ignites the polystyrene sticks to surfaces, hence burning for longer giving said napalm effect.

Another one from your friendly chemist.

I actually did my masters project on petrol bombs. So trust me

I expect this thread has drawn the attention of the Mi5/FBI snoop programs. I suspect we will all be greeted at Caen with marigolds and cavity searches.

Mr.Zarse,

You are deffo showing you age if you can remember the use of sodium chlorate and sugar.

Remember it well!!!!!!!.........we used it for mining in my mates back garden. Compacted it into the bank and lit the fuse....KAPOW........one F**K OFF  big hole in the bank.......and we were covered in earth.
