Re: Tetre Rouge Bar.

Last year the staff told us it was going to be demolished to make way for a tram line.

Does anyone know if this has happened or is it still there?

By all accounts (from those lucky enough to go to  Pre Qualifying )the bar is still there and will be there  next week. ITs already been discussed somewhere and I thinnk that the proposed tram line is now being diverted to miss it. The facts will follow.

If the Tetre Rouge Bar is open next week, then will the "Welcome Canada Phil" party take place on Wed. evening as in the previous years (promise to show up this year Phil)?

But will you be able to get on to the part that overlooks the corner?  I went there last year and only the lower part was open.

That is correct when at pre-quals we made our way over their incase it would be our last visit but were assured it is staying. For once the FIA have stepping in and done us a favor. The tram lines were condisered too dangerous to cross let alone run along one of the fastest straights in motorracing. As a result of the ruling by the FIA the tram line will run alongside the mulsanne leaving the Tertre Rouge bar standing. They were also considering running the trams as far as mulsanne too (Very useful).

Hope this settles your fears.

I'm showing my ignorance here, but where exactly is the Tetre Rouge Bar, and can you get to it from the infield?

We were at TR late Saturday last year and couldn't find anywhere to have a beer!  We were probably standing right on top of it!

Cheers,
tat

No the Bar is outside the area you need a ticket for.  I'm not sure how you would get there on foot.  I always drive.

You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

Like the name says at the Tertre Rouge corner. It's the Stella bar (big Stella banners) which you can't miss (may depend on the amount of alcohol consumed). There's a tunnel from the inside and the bar is on the left just as you leave the tunnel. It's actually a two minute walk from the inside of the corner.

I don't care - I'm a racing driver and I'm here to win, not to finish third.

From the banking at Tetre Rouge corner, head south to exit and once outside on the small road (Houx Annexe is to the right) turn left and just under the bridge (where the Mulsanne Straight starts) on the left is the stairs up to the bar.
