(I'm sure there was a thread about this before the race - can't find it now... perhaps it was in another topic...anyway...)

I was wondering if anyone went to the German Teams event at Arnage on the Friday?
The Audi and Porsche cars and drivers were supposed to be there, but I don't know any details.
We were even told about it by one of the ACO helpers during scrutineering - who asked if we were going to it. Sadly we decided to stay away due to previous experience of the hooligan aspects at Arnage in the last few years (whatever happened to having a nice drink whilst watching the nice cars drive by? Now it seems to be the spectators get blind drunk and try to trash the cars...)

Maybe the event was put on to try and calm the hooligan element down? Did it work? Was the event any good?

We stopped off in Arnage on the way back from St Saturnin and had a meal and beers in L'Arlequin.

From what I saw nothing got too out of hand.

There was a distinct air of 'highjacking' by the Brits though. Most of what came along the road had UK plates.

We weren't there all afternoon so maybe others can testify differently.

A French friend of mine who went said it degenerated quite badly towards the end - apparently there was something on the local news about it.  I guess the idiot brigade needed somewhere to go....
