Did anyone see the hidden mobile speed cameras under the bridges on the motorway. I got flashed twice.
What are the implications.

You naughty boy!

From memory the agreement for speed offences across Europe comes in this autum (or it might have been last autum..)

I've been flashed a couple of times (although not this year!) and nothing ever came of it. However, I did get pulled once and had to leave my passenger as security while I went to the cash point Smiley

Was it just me or was there a lot less lunatics driving at ridiculously high speeds this year?  On the run down on Thursday morning the only Brit to overtake us was a V8 Disco and I was only doing between 130-140kph on the peage, he was probably using even more fuel that I was!

Only really stupid driving I saw was on the way back from Dover Monday night!

Only 2 I saw on Monday above the limit was 1 Aston and a Jag XF.
Most of the ferrari's and Porsche seemed to be sticking to 130 on their speedo, and being overtaken by loads of people who have checked the accuracy of their speedo's

True, there did seem to be a lot of cars running at just under the limit!

Didn't see any of those, but did see under a bridge a guy dressed in camoflage gear with what looked like a pair of bonoculars on a tripod.
Very differcult to spot, I didn't notice him till I was about 50m away.
But if it was a speed trap there was no sign of any bike Flics afterwards.

On the Peage on Monday, we spotted 3 cop setups - one on top of a bridge (at least it could have been a copper), one hiding behind a tractor on an incline just behind a hill, and one at the end of a serviceway slip road onto the motorway. The last lady cop one clearly came running out and gunned me from behind (fnar, fnar), but I had set the cruise control at 132kph according to my sat nav, which was more like 140-145 indicated on the speedo.

On the toll roads, if they nab you on a mobile camera then they'll just pick you up at the next barrier - maybe most likely within 10km of the end of the section (eg approaching Rouen), so I'd say if you didn't get collected en route then you're probably in the clear.

On the way to Cherbourg on Sunday we had some nice truckers warn us of a mobile speed trap on the A28 just before we turned off to Caen

The truckers appear to hate the feds' speed traps more than the car drivers.

On the way down to LM, we were flashed by a lorry going the other way just at the top of a long descent, dip, bend, and then long ascent. At the very bottom there was a tiny slip road off the main carriageway which dropped off very quickly into a field. On it were *kneeling* 3 cops with laser equipment. You couldn't spot them until you were almost alongside, and they'd probably gunned you 250m before.

Sneaky f*ckers.

nice of Gary not to worry me about this

'specially after our high speed run between the Pont de bootiful and baie de Somme

I don't think I saw any myself, and I'm usually dead nervous about this

suppose I'll get a letter in Franglais just after August...
