Money can't buy you a parking space: £1million Bugatti owner lands parking fine
Last updated at 15:56pm on 28th January 2008

A traffic warden was stunned to be greeted with raptuous applause instead of the usual venom when she stuck a parking ticket on a £1million Bugatti Veyron.

Crowds of shoppers clapped and whooped as the female warden placed a £60 fine on the flashy vehicle, which had been parked illegally in Manchester city centre over the weekend.

The vehicle, which does 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds, was also ticketed in Alderley Edge, Cheshire - famous for its many footballer residents - last year.

That's the ticket: The giggling warden places the ticket on the Bugatti in Manchester on Saturday

The rich owner, wearing jeans, trainers and a Gio Goi hooded top, returned to his car to find an audience watching and sheepishly took the ticket off his window and drove off.

The awaiting crowd were expecting to see a celebrity return to his car and were disapointed it was just an unrecognisable millionaire.

Last year, music mogul Simon Cowell splashed out £750,000 for a Bugatti Veyron, which is recognised as the world's most expensive and street-legal car.

Whose is it?: Shoppers were disapointed the car wasn't owned by a celebrity

Sheepish: The owner returns to his car and is stunned by the attention

Is it not one of those dual control cars used by driving schools?

You can also hire one for the day Tongue

RIO Prestige have a Veyron for hire at the moment. There was a cracking article in the times about it.

http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/driving/article3254157.ece

£20,000 to hire the car per day Shocked
£100,000 cashed deposit Shocked
Entitles you to 50 miles in the car...........
every mile thereafter is £10.00

Impressive!

Perhaps with that registration number, the owner is from the Bulgarian High Commission?

Ohh - if only he had made his escape by way of the infamous bus lane bollards   Wink  (they are only round the corner from that place)!!!

It is just outside Habitat, but there is often something rather tasty parked on that corner - used to see a McLaren Mercedes thingy there quite often, and the odd Bentley or 3.

Well, I've seen said Bugatti today at Oulton Park and the owner is none other than Simon Morris, winner on the British GT race in the Tech 9 Lambo.

Very nice motor, but could have done with a bit of a wax and polish Roll Eyes
