Audi have just announced that they will go head to head with Peugeot in the LMS next year, as well as racing in ALMS and Le Mans

I suspect they're concerned that peugeots development might creep up on them and give them a shock. It's a perfect opportunity to keep tabs on how well they (are or are not) doing. LM is the biggest prize, and if you only get to size up the competition once a year, things might not go according to plan.

Audi shouldn't worry until Peugeot wins the 12 hours of Sebring. It's really that simple.

Have Peugeot commited to run Sebring yet? Good to hear Audi are taking on teh LMS while not abandoning the ALMS. Audi could be the catalyst that brings Diesel cars to North America. currently a very small portion of the market in Canada and even smaller in the US.

Great that Audi will run at the LMS, but I doubt Peugeot will ever enter the ALMS because they have no market there.
