camping at Beausejour area

Sadly I can only speak about Beausejour, but I've experienced both versions of staying there

2006/general: On and off went pretty quick, the entry was manned all night long, at least at wednesday 4am when we arrived. There was already some action, but we got a decent place right behind the tree line. Porsche curves was a 5 or 6 minutes walk, facilities were superb throughout the whole week. They've cleaned the showers after every person
Getting to the village is quite a walk though, I'd guess 30min and then you're not at the Esses yet, if you want to go there which is together with Tertre Rouge the only place to get decent pictures then get yourself in shape.
Access to the city is also pretty good as you can use the street between the track and Bleu, turn right somewhere around expo and it's just another 2 or 3 minutes to the Carrefour parking. The way back to the site is easier via Hunaudières, the roundabout at the first chicane brings you back to the small road leading to the campsite.
Also it was still ok to leave after the race. Not quick, but in a way you expect it at such a big event. Downside is that they send you on a huge sightseeing tour before you reach the motorway. They send you down to Arnage or so and then turning left which makes it even a bigger round...
The people on BSJ are very friendly in general and a broad mix of all nations. For sure there are some youngguns making a big party, but nothing too serious. We've watched football WC with a group of norwegians back then, very friendly...

2007: The whole first part up to the place where we've been 2006 was fenced off by K-Reijser with extra access road and gates manned with security. This made the walk to the Porsche Curves a 15-20min walk - now you do the math how long it takes to the Esses. And yes, if you didn't have the K-Reijser armband you were not even allowed to walk through their town. Go all around...
There were not too many facilities and they were not regulary manned. Just cleaned in the morning. Imagine how it looked with all the downpour if you wanted to shower at noon...
Getting on and off was also pretty annoying as they installed some kind of military checkpoint at the entrance and also the driving was quite dangerous as the corner after you've passed K-Reijser was blind and 1,5 cars wide. 90% of the time there was some security guy, but the muddier it got, the less I've seen him there.
They've done good in putting gravel down at the entrance checkpoint, but the roads became nearly undriveable. I was glad I have FWD so it was an easy job to get off on sunday, but I've seen several BMW's and cars with trailers needing help

For me it looked like BSJ was K-Reijser. They've done all for their comfort but didn't find it necessary to give the "normal" people the used comfort. If I want mobile toilets, dirty as hell and a shower that dirty I'd rather don't take on I go to the Spa 24 hours.
If my camping ticket says "facilities" and highly enjoyed the early morning to (late) evening manned facilities in 2006 I except this again for the next year.

You were nobody on BSJ if you weren't K-Reijser

My goal is to make my 25th Le Mans at the 100th edition, so by my calculations I can skip two
I either find some tickets for another site here, or I stay at home. I would do BSJ again if there wasn't this 2007 edition. 2006 was fine, but 2007 a waste of money
