Have heard so many rumours of what driver line-up peugeot will go with for Lemans, anyone any solid info or opinions on who they would like to see race next year Personally would love to see the rumoured Jean Alesi race one of the few race drivers left with a bit of flair about him!!!

There was an interview with Serge Saulnier recently on endurance-info (quite interesting actually, see here: http://www.endurance-info.com/article.php?sid=2854&mode=&order=0&thold=0). They are looking for seven drivers for the racing and development work. One of them will be Eric Hélary. The rest is not clear yet. Somewhere else I read that Stephane Bourdais claimed he will drive for Peugeot next year. There was nothing mentioned about him in the interview. It was stated in the interview that more will be revealed soon.

Thanks for that interesting interview, I read somewhere else about an all french driver line-up but that interview seems to have quelled that one, I wonder if one of the ex Audi international guys could be Herbert??

According to "L'Equipe" ( the French sports newspaper), the shakedown of the new car has been delayed, possibly up to a month, because of "late delivery of some parts". The driver line-up should have been announced at the end of October but this has been delayed too.

I've also heard somebody mentioning Prost as an option. That would be a great publicity stunt!

I suspect Prost is unlikey. If memory serves me correct he was offered a French Audi ride a few years ago and turned it down because of his stance on some LM safety issues. I would think Olivier Panis would be a fine canidate given his reputation as a superb R&D driver with McLaren. Fax

Both Alesi and Prost have said in the past that Le mans is too risky and I doubt that either would be in any driver line up for a race.
I expect one could be seen testing the car for PR reasons however.
I think one of the drivers at Le mans will be British, Herbert is past his best I think, and has said something about racing an Aston so I think he is ruled out. Guy Smith is a possible, I can't understand why more teams don't use him, maybe he is not as good as we are led to think or has other problems? what about Justin Wilson could he be available.

Well the latest rumours I saw on Teletext last night said that Ferrari F1 test driver Marc Gene was going to be confirmed sometime soon, with talk of Pedro de la Rosa & Carlos Sainz as well, found a link: http://tinyurl.com/yj72h6Maybe an entirely Spanish (driven) car to go with the inevitable French (driven) car in June?? Plus it would be nice to see some new faces have a go at real racing (Sainz is excluded from this, obviously...)

The rumour mill will grind to a halt on the 10th when Peugeot will announce the line-up.
