A friend is getting the train from Paris to Le Mans, arriving midday Thursday, and I've said I'll pick him  up from the station. He's coming on the TGV, where's the station in relation camping bleu? Is it worth programming my satnav, just in case...?

Just head towards town from Bleu, this brings to you the big Pontlieue roundabout, head towards town (sort of straight across) and the road for the station is on the left should be easy to find as there are plenty of roadsigns to it.

Go into Arnage village. Take the D147S north towards Le Mans. Follow Boulevard Demorieux into Le Mans.
You pass under a railway bridge and then turn right at the lights following signs for Gare SNCF you want Gare Sud TGV
I don't think that needs GPS. Theres a map with the station on it (column R near the bottom) on Stu's helpful stuff on the Help forum - It's http://tinyurl.com/h8fuo

It`s a ten minutes ride by car, app. 6-7 km. Probably worth to buy a map of the town or set sat nav.

If you don`t want to pick up your friend, taxi fare for him from the railway station to the racetrack is about 15 Euro

Cheers guys, I don't mind picking him up, he's only coming for a couple of days to sample the atmosphere before next year, so I'll take him back to our campsite for a beer or two before qualifying. He's a British student living in France, so that might help Smiley

I think you'll find the whole area around the station is a building site.  You might seriously want to think about having a whip round and paying his taxi fare, Keith says that the whole area is a nightmare!
