A subject close to our hearts, particularly when at Le Mans, is how to chill our beers, and of course, how to know when the said beers are at the correct temperatire for consumption.

For the true and discriminating aficionado, a glass of the finest beer should only be partaken if it is the correct temperature. The subtle nuance of the melded grains....... the fragile and fleeting taste of the brewers art....... can only be truly appreciated if that golden elixir is properly chilled.

To this end, advanced studies candidates in the Graduate Engineering Department of The Ohio State University have developed an easy to use, fully portable Beer Temperature Tester, which very accurately determines whether the beverage is acceptably chilled or not. To test the beer, simply insert the tester into the glass.

After the tester has been immersed for a period of not less than fifteen seconds, remove probes and observe.

The beer on the left is the correct temperature!  Grin

JPC,
do you know if we will be able to buy our beer temperature tester from Carrefour?

The search has started for the official Team JPC beer tester for Le Mans 2006. It's going to be a long, hard process but interviews will start next month and carry on through until May.  Wink

As for in Le Mans itself, I believe you can find beer testers like this in the Relax Club.

Just a point of clarification here.  Lager style beer should be served at a cooler temprature than say a traditional English bitter.  Can we take it that for each beer being served, a different beer tester is to be provided?  Also during serving when will the beer be tested for correct temprature?

Just wondering as the bar is open 24 hours a day Cool

Bloody marvellous idea Shocked
