I know there's another thread open somewhere, but this is just to tell you that the new Rouen - Alencon section of the A 28 was opened today.
The Eccomoy - Tours section will open in December.

 Huh
OK the new motorway is open. As a regular french frog, I'm happy.
However, isn't it the end of an era Huh
I mean, I enjoyed to drive with the incredible cars coming from the other side of the channel, along the "nationale" roads.  This "autoroute" is going to end up the pleasure of driving ( straight on is not driving) back and forth Rouen (where I'm living ) and Le Mans. I remenber, young french gyes in villages, waving their end while old Bentleys, Jaguar and so on were passing along on their way back.
Motorway, OK, but Le Mans spirit???....

Blimey Daniel, not sure about this at all!

I've seen plenty of strange happenings at Le Mans, but nothing of this sort.

Alot of people will still use the old road i think.

Most of the local and HGV traffic will be on the autoroute the 138 will be alot better without the hold ups.

looking foward to waving my end back at the locals!

Any ideas on price - presumably about E10.

Is a Rouen Bypass planned - it seems a missing link

Anyone in a hurry will use it, but I suspect most of us will only use the Alencon bypass, which creates a bottleneck at the booths.

N138 all the way for me, much more interesting route, and the trucks should be gone too.

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!
