Deatils in the LM programme show the upgrades that the ACO are planning.

According to this years programme the work is happening before next years race, in time for the 75th/100th anniversary of the ACO next year (??) I seem to remember reading that they were changing some parts of the circuit, possibly where the Bugatti & 24 hours circuit separate. It's my understanding they'll then add the extra pit garages for the following years race. Just pray they keep the additional catch fencing to a minimum!!

A third of the village is already destroyed... ... The new village is planned to be ready for 2006 race, not in tatality but the main part.
All the wooden pavillions would be destryed in a few weeks.

During the Motors TV footage of this years race there is a virtual tour of the new village. It looks pretty good, all patios and market stalls, and most important it looks like it will be traffic free with service roads to the bars and concession stalls.

Whilst I still bewail the wanton and unnecessary destruction of the old carousel Champagne Bar, the new village sounds like it could (for once) be a huge improvement on the 60/70's chicken shacks that we've endured for years. And if it's pedestrianised, so much the better.
