We were camped up next to the huge Lotus collective on HA by the roundabout, and at about 1am Friday morning apparently a vehicle drove to the gravel outside the shower/loo blocks and span a couple of doughnuts out...

Unfortunately the gravel it kicked up pebble dashed quite a few cars leaving at least 5 with broken windows including a Porsche and a Skyline, and many others with damaged paintwork.

Does anyone else know any more details?

Shocking behaviour of course and my sympathies go out to all those who sustained damage.

Saw the damaged Porsche, thought it had been the victim of a theft.

I will ask around to see if anyone has any idea.

Well that explains it a little better Russ, we were up at the top of the campsite by the entrance & saw 4 or 5 cars with broken windows, we too thought they'd been broken into. Which caused some concern as I'd never seen damaged cars in a campsite at LM before, the people are just too friendly for all that!!

I just hope the offending party was the guy who knackered his elise going round the roudabout on sunday, cos that's what he deserves for messing around on the campsite doing stupid things like that!! Angry

Saw the 996 Turbo as well - didn't appear to have any other damage...

We felt that there was more of a "chav" element present this year - too many football shirts standing by the roundabout when we were there.

It's only rumour but i heard the guy responsible upon sobering up, offered to fly in replacement glass for all concerned and pay for any other damage once repaired.

I hope it's true. Still a major prat though.

Apprently the guy was on a mini moto doin wheelspins and smashed the windows. He then was found out to be very rich and offered to pay for all the glass and they had been refitted with glass about 3 days later but i couldnt see any bodywork damage on the cars thank god for his sake.

p.s what sort of dippy c**t rides mini motos arund doing wheelspins between millions of pounds worth of cars?!?!? Huh That is the only question i have??

Unfortunately wealth is relative - Those with lots of it can fail to see that they are the priveledged ones and fail to maintain a sense of perspective.

There is plenty of evidence for that (in many ways).

I promise that once I'm better off It will be free beer for all and other than a GT3 no other wasteful shows of affluence.

PS .    This may take some time and I'm not likely to make the 100th Le Mans !

Excellent Pic of the Sofa!

And that's our plot with the Hymer motor home on the far right!
