Can you please tell me what time the camp sites open.
This year will be my second year and I'm arriving early to see everything as last year I arrived on the Wednesday and left on the Sunday. (my husband wasn't sure if I would like it)

Hi Cissie, welcome to CA

The camp sites officially open on Monday 13th. Your camping pass is valid from the 15th so if you want to enter on the Monday or Tuesday you have to pay a supplement on the gate.

That said, there are members of the forum who regularly turn up on the Sunday before the race and manage to get onto Maison Blanche!

Hope this helps!!

Thanks,  I am a member of the ACO and have a pitch booked at Karting Nord.  Will I be able to pitch my tent on the Sunday? I have an over-night crossing from Portsmouth on the Saturday night

Whats the trick for getting in on Sundays.  We've tried everything except wire cutters.  Hence the Monday arrival.

I believe the Liverpool Boys drove in the mian entrance and then round behind the stands.

IIRC, although they had them they didn't even have to show a pass!!  Shocked

It must depend who's on the gate.  We've been kicked out there and at the back entrance nr Technoparc for the last two years over numerous attempts

Last year we got to Houx Annex on Sunday afternoon and there was a chain across the entrance.  Some people from Autosport who had to drop their gear and head back for a Ferry crossing just took bolt cutters and opened it up and we all went in.  The gendarmes never said anything to us. If they had we would have told them that the gate was open when we got there ... which it was.   Grin

It depends which campsite you are on:

15 euros each for monday/tuesday night for Maison Blanche/Houx
8 euros for bleu/karting nord/houx annexe/beausejour.

The full list is shown on the official ACO website, under tickets prices/supplements.

We didn't get charged any supplement for Sun/Mon/Tues last year but we did the year before. ISTR they gave us an extra ticket for our money...

Bu**er - i thought i gave prompt, useful, factual information with additional reference to checking the ACO official website....any exemplary post!

But i guess that as with all things Le Mans - it all depends your skills at  blagging, schmoozing and fluttering yer eyelashes and whether anyone is even at the gate on Monday/Tuesday.  (not saying which method Smokie may have used   Wink )

F

P.S.  Incidentally, the official line is that the campsites open on Monday.
