After bitching about the overpaid tossers last month, it was good to see what we can do when we play properly. I've said it before, much to people's wrath, but Beckham is a luxury we don't need. He's a great player but he upsets the balance of the side.

I have to admit though to being concerned when they equalised just before half time. I thought the lads were about to be unseeded by the Poles. I was once unseeded by a Pole but thats another matter entirely.

With you on this Andy, Beckham doesn't add to the England team at all. With him on the pitch all the others see him as the only accepted option and we were stacks better without Beckham and Gerrard last night. Gave the others the chance to play with flair.

But I still expect Swen to cockitup again whenever DB is available.

Another bonus was that even though he scored nothing the Rooneythug had what I thought was one of his best ever performances in an England shirt.

A game I enjoyed for a  change. Smiley

With both of you on these points.

I went to both games and after the wholy unsatisfactory rubbish that was served up on Saturday was a touch worried the Poles would get the better of England last night.  Thankfully though I don my hat to the boys and the way they played.  It was the most watchable and enjoyable game I've seen England play in ages.  It just goes to show what England can do when they get it right.  Of course Sven will put DB back on the pitch as soon as he can and screw it all up again.

Is it wrong to hope for DB to sustain a lengthy injury sometime around late May???

I just heard that the foul-mouthed hooligan Rooney is one of 4 English players shortlisted for a FIFA award.

What kind of message does that send to youngsters?

That you can eat what you like, say what you like, and be what you like, and STILL be a superb footballer?

Im a Reading supporter, and even though we are having a cracking season, I'd still kill for Rooney in my team....I dont care what he does, as long as he's still cracking in goals for England - hate him as a person, but you gotta love him as a pure footballing genius, with a WHOLE lot of Gazza about him....

The Adorable Doris said...

"Is it wrong to hope for DB to sustain a lengthy injury sometime around late May??? "

You know I had to give this a second or two of thought before I answered, after all this is a young married man and being married to the "screaming skull" should be hardship enough as it is, but, NO! Sounds like a good plan to me, anybody in a position to slap grease on his brake pedal or summat?

in editing mode Bill 'umbly apologises to Becks and his mate for thinking such a hideous thought...

Let's try "anyone in a position to give his cheek a slap to deter him from wasting an other England Performance?"

There that's better. It's a worry having a conscience, innit?
