Hey Matt, I just logged in and saw that you are online.  I'm glad to see you folks are ok.  I've seen some of the detailed pictures and specials coming out of Florida now and it's just awful.  It sounds as if you were very lucky, lots of folks weren't.  I understand some people who had retired to Florida are now deciding to move away and not rebuild.  How sad for our elderly to lose everything they had worked for all their lives.  The good news is that millions of people left the area during the bad storms and are alive today to go back home whatever is left of it.
I hope you don't have any more hurricanes to deal with, maybe 4 in a month is enough!!!!  Hang tough.

Hello John
Thanks for the good wishes - everything is kinda-sorta back to normal, but I'm a bit 'storm-weary', it has to be said.
I'm going back to UK on Thursday for a few days, so looking forward to enjoying more normal, predictable weather/climate.
Thanks for the message.

Hi Mark
All a bit bizarre really. My parent company is hosting its "Autumn Ball" at The Royal Armouries in Leeds and they've invited me over as one of the colonial curiosities.
It's a long way to come for some poncey canapes and 'dray weight wane' - but I shall be taking advantage of every hand-pulled Tet opportunity that presents itself (assuming I can afford any after 'er indoors lashed-out a months wages on a new gownless evening strap).
I shall be arriving in sun-baked Manchester on Thurs morning, staying in Bradford (hey, don't knock it, til you've tried it) on Thurs, Fri - then a proper swanky hotel in Leeds on Sat and back to Bradistan and leaving back to the States on Tuesday morning.
Like I said, a long way to come for a pint - but just as ridiculous as 8000 mile round trip for a barbeque (Le Mans)
Any Yorkshire contingent around next weekend/early week after?
