Due to unforeseen issues (girlfriends!) we aren't coming down until Fri morning (03:28 shuttle) and hoping to arrive at Karting Nord about 12ish. Can someone let me know if its going to be pretty packed by that time? Will we get a pitch by the track?? Another thing, as soon as we are up & running we'll be heading to the parade. Is there another option other than walking into town??

Cheers

Hi Stuart,

All the good spots should be taken by mid friday, try to ask others at KN to keep you spot.
Usally we go by bus to the parade, it's app. 500 meters from the main entrance.

Stuart,

At that time of the day you should be able to get a move on and I suspect even with a stop you could be at the campsite before 9.30am.

If I were you I'd go straight to the site and once you've got the tents up etc go back and do the shopping.  The site gets quite full by Friday afternoon but I think you'll be ok if you get there early, but as the last post said the best spots will be gone.

The main gate in case you were not sure is next to the museum, go out of the track and turn right, under the bridge, past the pub and the bus stop is just along the road.

Calais to LM is about 265 miles if you don't use the new motorway from Alencon. Not sure how much difference (distance) that would make, but it would save a little time.

I was proud of 3.75 hours at pre-qual, so you may have to go a bit (and not encounter too many delays) to do it in 4 hrs.

I have only ever gone Calais - Rouen (near motorway std), then N138 down past the Caen/Le havre turnj offs through to Alencon and to LM. I'd say it looks the shortest on paper, but beyond Rouen it turns into good A road with few dual carriageway sections and an awful lot of roundabouts!

Thanks again for that info....

One last question I promise. Keep reading about a "concert". Does this happen every year, can't say I saw or heard it in 2000. If so where & when & who plays??

That would be in respect last year's Audi concert which I think was tickets only. There used to be a free-for-all somewhere near the fairground.

Does anyone know how much time this new motorway at Alencon will save us if we use it?

It's worth it just so that I can open up the black beast.  The road is generally quiet and the toll is cheap.

I reckon, it can save about 20 mins, just as its a FAST bit of road, with no villages to stop in.
