Hi there,

Been bounced out of our normal site (and pitch of the last 6 years) into Houx Annex.

Please can anyone tell me about the following:-

Power - Are there any outlets anywhere on the site?

Bogs/Showers - Are there any and what are they like?

One Last question - When is the earliest we can get on the site?

Thanks

It's been a few years since I was on HA so can't answer 1 & 2, but the sites are open from Monday officially (although entry has been made on Sunday in some places) but there is a nightly additional charge for Mon & Tues of somewhere around €10

Hi
No power .

Toilets and Showers are available which shut last year virtually straight after the race ( Until someone broke the lock and gained entry) We arrived last year on the Monday evening, told the bloke we would park up and come back with the money but did'nt.

No power on Houx Annexe I'm afraid. Last year the toilets and showers were considerably improved. They shipped in portable blocks with proper sit down loos and there was plenty of hot water for the showers, although the queues were sometimes prohibitive. Whilst they were clean and tidy, there weren't enough of them for a site as large as Houx Annexe.

Hello, Confused-Cambridge,

As always, get there ASAP, otherwise you'll think you're at home - i.e. nowhere to park, queues for the bogs, foreigners everywhere, no power and a serious danger of being mown down by an American riding a bike on the wrong side of the road !  Wink Wink Wink

Bury St Edmunds is much more civilised !
